The natural world is in a state of continual change, constant motion, endless flow. Only solid rock seems not to change, not to move, not to flow. To man, rock is a symbol of permanence. Throughout history man has used rock to build those structure meant to endure. Man has considered rock to be permanent, to be solid and yet what about the history of the rock itself?
